#Response DateResponse Text
Apr 19, 2013 7:26 AMthe few students tutors that you do have
Apr 17, 2013 3:04 PMTakes in nursing students twice a year.
Apr 17, 2013 1:04 PMLSUA has great teachers, and provide resources for students to succeed. The small classes are very helpful and engaging.
Apr 16, 2013 8:11 PMStudent to faculty interactions are frequent and encouraged. Good teachers. The tutoring centers seem to be well staffed on a consistent basis.
Apr 16, 2013 2:54 PMStudent/Faculty ratio.
Apr 16, 2013 12:19 PMIt is a smaller campus therefore the student to teacher ration is better.
Apr 16, 2013 11:54 AMThe accessibility of online courses, LSUA should really considered offering more! This allows the "non-traditional" student to be able to complete their degrees in a more timely manner as well as allowing them to work towards their degree goals all together.
Apr 16, 2013 11:17 AMThe teachers understand the students and do their best to accomodate to the students' needs. SI cesions and tutoring services help students to practice and review key-concepts.
Apr 15, 2013 9:35 PMI think that having things such like the Biology labs and math labs and especially the writing center is extremly helpful to students. They just need to all know that these are available to them and for free. also, i love the fact that so much is online. coming from a college where practically nothing was-taking an online class 100 percent and registering online instead of standing in line for hours is heaven to me.
Apr 15, 2013 6:00 PMComputer labs, library, gym, Subway, CSO and BCM, free lunch on Wednesdays, peer tutoring, and teacher availability in office. The emailing system helps also. Students help each other out sometimes, too.
Apr 15, 2013 2:53 PMI believe that the tutoring services offered, as well as the availability and willingness of many professors to help struggling students are two of the more important resources students have for help in their classes. Also, some teachers set up tutoring sessions between students aside from those offered in the tutoring labs.
Apr 15, 2013 2:37 PMThe professors and the online accessibility
Apr 15, 2013 1:09 PMOne of the main strengths is that the class size is small, there is more one on one with the teachers than with a larger school. I have also noticed that the faculty and staff know the students and want to know the students.
Apr 15, 2013 11:48 AMI think the best thing about the campus is how personal it is between student and professor. I also like the oppertunities for supplemental instruction.
Apr 14, 2013 8:46 AMHaving labs available to students.
Apr 10, 2013 9:09 PMSmaller classes is LSUA's strengths in learning.
Apr 8, 2013 11:27 AMThe small classes that allow for one on one with professors. I also like that the school is not expensive. This school is also located centrally in the state allowing for a diverse group of students to attend. These three things are about the only strengths that LSUA has over any schools in the state.
Apr 3, 2013 8:49 PMSmall class sizes that enable instructor to devote individual time and assistance. Caring and well educated instructors.
Mar 28, 2013 5:35 AMMath tutoring and Study Groups
Mar 27, 2013 4:35 PMThe teachers are nice and are willing to help you.
Mar 27, 2013 4:16 PMLsua definitely knows how to challenge their students for the better
Mar 27, 2013 1:30 PMI believe that some of the strengths that LSUA has as far as impacting student learning is that LSUA is a small campus with professors that take an interest in their students and help them the best of their ability to succeed and to give them the instruction they need to be accurate and productive in the field the student(s) wish to pursue as a career.
Mar 26, 2013 3:06 PMExcellent teaching staff and convenient location, with easy access to facilities.
Mar 26, 2013 2:25 PMThe teacher genuine interest in the student and helping them in any way they can in succeeding.
Mar 26, 2013 8:53 AMLSUA is more of a one-on-one learning environment. (:
Mar 26, 2013 7:20 AMI'm not sure do to the fact that I am a new student.
Mar 26, 2013 7:00 AMTutoring
Mar 26, 2013 6:09 AMI don't have any. There are 'some' professional Professors at the University; however, there are a lot more 'whom' are not very professional, and don't really care if the student succeeds. They should realize that it is the 'students' who are paying their salaries, and they should put forth more effort to make the student's learning experience a little better. Because of some of the experiences that I have experienced with most of my Professors, I am strongly considering relocating to another University...
Mar 25, 2013 10:13 PMsmall class sizes
Mar 25, 2013 6:25 PMThere are several instructors who are really super instructors. If they see you are working hard and really trying, they will go over and beyond to help you or the whole class.
Mar 25, 2013 2:22 PMThe quality of instructors is a very positive influence on learning.
Mar 25, 2013 12:47 PMnone
Mar 25, 2013 9:16 AMHonestly can't say
Mar 25, 2013 9:02 AMthe flexibility in scheduling
Mar 25, 2013 8:55 AMOne of LSUA's greatest strengths is that because it is a smaller university and the classes are smaller we as student's receive a more personal, up-close education. I also feel that the teachers at LSUA really care about the students and our education.
Mar 25, 2013 8:54 AMLSUA is good about making their resources available, such as the library database, the computer labs, and the ease of communicating with professors.
Mar 25, 2013 8:30 AMIts beautiful campus...
Mar 25, 2013 8:27 AMconstant tutoring sessions
Mar 25, 2013 7:58 AMInstructors are great
Mar 25, 2013 7:55 AMthe opportunity to take all needed classes in two to three days a week, that way the students can still work, ect
Mar 25, 2013 7:52 AMThe writing center is invaluable and positively impacts all students. Peer tutoring also helps students who are struggling in certain areas.
Mar 25, 2013 7:47 AMThe caring teachers are a positive impact. They are always willing to help me with a smile on there face whenever I need. Another positive impact is the tutors and SI's that help with the learning ability of students. I find this is very effective.
Mar 25, 2013 7:43 AMThe school is small so the teachers and students can get to know each other a little bit more.
Mar 25, 2013 7:38 AMI don't know of any strengths. Most of your student's that are here to get degrees are not traditional students. Student's are here to get there degrees because it is the closest to home, work, and their families. Student's are here to get there degree and be done so they are the ones that modivate their selves and strengthen their selves not LSUA.
Mar 25, 2013 7:37 AMLSUA normally has small classes where it is easy for the students to receive help and easily become involved in learning. Nearly every teacher I have had is genuinely concerned in the success of his or her students.
Mar 25, 2013 7:33 AMThe instructors are interested in their student's learning.
Mar 25, 2013 7:24 AMHands on learning
Mar 25, 2013 7:14 AMthe education department and the teachers you have running it.
Mar 25, 2013 7:00 AMThe wonderful professors!
Mar 25, 2013 6:58 AMLSUA's strength is its environment. We have a welcoming environment!
Mar 24, 2013 6:20 PMThe professors are great and that contributes to student learning. The education department is wonderful and the professors really train the students well. When we leave we will be trained well and ready to be in the classroom.
Mar 23, 2013 1:27 PMstrengths that positively impact student learnning are teach-student interaction
Mar 22, 2013 3:07 PMMany of the instuctors have a wonderful open door policy regarding contacting them for help when they are not in classes. This has been a wonderful help to me and definitely has promoted an environment conducive to learning and a positive attitude towards the students.
Mar 22, 2013 9:42 AMLSUA offers tutoring at various hours in many subjects, the Writing Center, computer labs. All of these things are very positve aspects of the learning environment at LSUA.
Mar 22, 2013 8:37 AMGood teachers that challenge us, the students, to think.
Mar 22, 2013 8:07 AMThe peer tutoring programs for some of the math and science programs are a great way for students to enhance their learning.
Mar 22, 2013 7:14 AMThere are many tutoring sessions for math and the Writing Center that I believe help out the students greatly with their academics.
Mar 22, 2013 4:23 AMThe variety of courses and the necessary facilities
Mar 21, 2013 8:35 PMSmaller classes that allow for the students to meet with professors when they need help.
Mar 21, 2013 7:44 PMI believe that the professors, are amazing! The classes are just the right size for learning, the classes have the perfect number of students to teacher ratio. My experiance here at LSUA, has been wonderful. I regret not considering LSUA, after I graduated high school, but I am here now getting what I know is a great education. I thank God, everyday that I have this opportunity to attend a college close to home, and work that fits my needs.
Mar 21, 2013 7:19 PMSmall campus allows you to communicate with your fellow students and the faculty much easier.
Mar 21, 2013 6:22 PMI would consider the small size of the school, relatively low cost of attendance, high quality and very devoted professors, as well as small class sizes when compared with other universities and colleges to be one of the strenghts of LSUA.
Mar 21, 2013 5:21 PMthe faculty and staff.
Mar 21, 2013 4:17 PMThere are none. The department that needs the most improvement is the Nursing Dept. The advisors are rude and condescending.
Mar 21, 2013 3:03 PMGood faculty
Mar 21, 2013 2:36 PMCounselors and tutoring is offered to students free of charge. IT offering help with computer training.
Mar 21, 2013 2:23 PMsome of the instructors
Mar 21, 2013 2:01 PMThere are departments and professors who are truly dedicated to helping students and presenting information in ways that students can understand.
Mar 21, 2013 1:16 PM1. Low cost of attendance 2. Most of the staff/faculty are helpful when students present problems.
Mar 21, 2013 12:44 PMlocation
Mar 21, 2013 12:43 PMThe professors truly care about student learning and are willing to go to great lengths to provide quality education. The class size is beneficial to learning.
Mar 21, 2013 12:41 PMSome of the professors are really good at what they do. Dr. Ells would be my prime example - he teaches a class that is required for most degrees but dreaded by most students, but he teaches in a way that makes the class interesting and enjoyable. The few outdoor outlets also positively impact learning, because students can have a change of scenery while focusing on their studies.
Mar 21, 2013 11:52 AMHumanities department needs only fine-tuning and add-ons. Other than that, the Humanities department is one of LSUA's biggest strengths. The English department is by far the strongest part of LSUA. The English professors are some of my favorite professors on campus.
Mar 21, 2013 11:41 AMn/a
Mar 21, 2013 11:38 AMThe low student/professor ratio, the ability to be acquainted wity such a large percentage of your fellow students.
Mar 21, 2013 11:30 AMLSUA has smaller classes that are very suitable for learning and provide great one-on-one time between students and professors.
Mar 21, 2013 11:26 AMMost of the professors are very concern about the student learning and they do not mind helping you to achieve your goal.
Mar 21, 2013 11:20 AMRecently LSUA has Gained newer facilities and technology, I believe this has impacted student learning positively.
Mar 21, 2013 10:44 AMThe Strengths I consider LSUA to have is that the teachers are availiable to communicate with me and they know my face.
Mar 21, 2013 10:43 AMI think that our strength here is that we have greatly motivated and dedicated professors and small classes. I believe that is what makes LSUA thrive. Our classes are small and personal, so we are able to get more comfortable and we stay involved. Our professors are also very dedicated and are always there to help if you need. I have never had a professor who was not willing to sit together in his or her office after class and answer any questions you had or help you where you thought you were struggling. That is what keeps our students learning and striving. In a class of hundreds of people, you are just another name or number who sits in a chair and listens. That is not at all the kind of environment we have here at LSUA.
Mar 21, 2013 10:41 AMThe biology department.
Mar 21, 2013 10:31 AMThere are SI instructors for the math and science subjects and I think that is a great help. Sometimes students don't understand things the way a professor explains but if it comes from one student to another its easier to understand,
Mar 21, 2013 10:18 AMEasy access to campus and resources
Mar 21, 2013 9:34 AMI believe that LSUA's most positive impact on student learning is that the professors that ARE here are such amazing, influential professors. They are so helpful and willing to help even when its outside of their class/office hours. They even make the time to help students when they're stressed. I do believe that LSUA made great hiring decisions on the teachers here, but I still stand by my belief that there should be more teaching.
Mar 21, 2013 9:21 AMEvening and Night classes are a great asset to students that are non traditional.
Mar 21, 2013 9:14 AMDedicated teachers
Mar 21, 2013 9:06 AMThe smaller classroom sizes positively impact student learning.
Mar 21, 2013 8:45 AMThe ability to speak with teachers is better than I ever would have imagined. I can more easily get in touch with them than I could my high school teachers.
Mar 21, 2013 8:23 AMTutoring is available and that is helpful.
Mar 21, 2013 7:23 AMN/A (?)
Mar 20, 2013 5:49 PMI have no idea.
Mar 19, 2013 5:44 PMI think that the staff is excellant, and that they strive to support the students.
Mar 19, 2013 11:01 AMI
Mar 18, 2013 9:17 PMThere is no room for slacking and their is plenty of assistance for students who need it whether tutoring, student services, counceling, etc.
Mar 18, 2013 7:43 PMbetter opportunities for tutors
Mar 18, 2013 1:20 PMStudent/Faculty ratio! The small class sizes allow students to thrive in a more personable education setting. Quality of staff- the best and brightest, in my opinion!
Mar 18, 2013 1:11 PMtechnology, places to study, and the teachers that do care.
Mar 18, 2013 12:36 PMThe teachers here are pretty great!
Mar 18, 2013 12:28 PMClose and personal interaction in a small class room.
Mar 18, 2013 11:26 AMThe online program Plato helped me a lot in math! My professor was awesome too!
Mar 18, 2013 9:16 AMThe strengths is that there is someone, no matter who they are, willing to help you.
Mar 17, 2013 8:07 PMWe have wonderful staff for the most part who truly care and it is evident in the way that they are willing to talk to students after class and provide feedback.
Mar 16, 2013 9:51 AMSome of the faculty are truly concerned about the progress and success of the students, despite administrative and institutional obstructions. The dedication shown by some of the faculty and staff make students feel like more than a paycheck to the University, and when funding is difficult to find for students' education, knowing that you're at an institution that values you for you instead of your tuition check is important.
Mar 15, 2013 7:35 AMVery good instructors
Mar 13, 2013 2:08 PMExcellent transparency in administration (as far as I can tell) -- this gives credence to the institution as a whole Courses that are challenging and comprehensive, not watered-down or simplified Knowledgeable faculty Campus is well equipped for online learning -- computers and internet are accessible Online classes make learning accessible to students who work during the day Professors have high expectations -- this is probably the most important!
Mar 12, 2013 2:23 PMGood personal attention to students, dedicated teachers, good use of technology, good facilities in MPAC
Mar 12, 2013 2:01 PMLSUA is centrally located. Most students can live at home and drive to school everyday or if they prefer to live on campus, housing is available to them. The instructors are friendly, encouraging and wants them to succeed. They go above and beyond to help them. They have office hours where thay are available to assist them when they have trouble with their studies.
